Statement of Faith

We hold to the following basic beliefs:

About the Bible:  We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.  It is the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.

About God:  We believe in one God, Creator of all things, existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

About Jesus Christ:  We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His death on a cross for our sins; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His imminent return.

About Man:  We believe God made man in His image that He might have fellowship with him.  Being estranged from God by his disobedience, sinful man is incapable of a right relationship to God apart from divine grace.  By man’s disobeying God, every person incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God, and physical death as a consequence; and that all people are sinners by nature and practice.

About Salvation:  We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and that all who believe in Him are declared righteous because of His sacrificial death and are, therefore, in a right relationship with God.  Those who receive Jesus Christ by faith are reborn of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God.

About the Holy Spirit:  We believe that the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ and dwells within the believer and during this age convicts of sin and empowers to be Christ followers.

About Future Events:  We believe that God’s redemptive purpose will be consummated by the return of Christ to judge all mankind and establish His kingdom.  Sinful or fallen man goes to judgement, the redeemed to their reward.

About Ordinances:  We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age.  They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.

About the Church:  We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through a saving faith in Jesus Christ have been born again by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ.  We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, and that he has bestowed ministry gifts to the Church for the equipping and training of Christ-followers to carry on the work of ministry in His Kingdom.
